En este ensayo nos centramos en la forma en que se relaciona íntimamente una tipología arquitectónica y urbana con paisajes del habitar, según prácticas y sus espacialidades. Se trata del caso de la casa a patio, dominante en el histórico segundo ensanche de Montevideo. En primer lugar realizamos una breve presentación. Después, nos focalizamos en el tipo y sus implicaciones históricas y antropológicas, para luego caracterizar una sensibilidad urbana a partir de entornos y ambientes del habitar. Por último, retomamos la discusión sobre lo moderno en clave contemporánea, buscando compartir una reflexión abierta a la multiplicidad de oportunidades que nos presenta el casoIn this essay we focus on the way in which an architectural and urban typology is intimately related to landscapes of dwelling, according to practices and their spatialities. This is the case of the courtyard house, dominant in the historic second enlargement of Montevideo. First we make a brief presentation. Then, we focus on the type and its historical and anthropological implications, and then characterize an urban sensibility from environments and atmospheres of dwell. Finally, we return to the discussion about the modern in a contemporary key, seeking to share an open reflection on the multiplicity of opportunities presented by the case.
