This work investigated how the fluctuations of the credit have influenced the economic dynamics of Metropolitan Area of Bucaramanga (MAB) between 2007 and 2012 under the approach
of the theory of the monetary endogenous cycle. This study made a descriptive analysis of the
variables, which were influenced by the credit as the saving, the incomes and the prices, especially those of real-estate assets. According to the results, it was found that MAB is now in the
expansive part of the credit cycle, consistent with the active participation of the central bank
through the managing of the real interest rate and a continued increase in the prices with
significant imbalances between the credit and the saving in the region, combination that can
generate risks in the regional economy.
