| dc.description | Este artículo tiene el interés de analizar los derechos civiles y políticos, precisamente, el derecho a la participación política en el marco del Sistema Interamericano de los derechos humanos, de manera que logremos identificar los principales instrumentos jurídicos, doctrinarios y jurisprudenciales que protegen aquel derecho y lo hacen justiciable. En ese mismo sentido, buscamos revisar la situación del estado de la democracia, particularmente, en la región de América Latina y el Caribe, a través de situaciones que servirán de casos prácticos para reflexionar sobre los desafíos y amenazas presentes y futuras del derecho a la participación política, el Estado de derecho y las democracias representativas. | |
| dc.description | This article aims to analyze civil and political rights, specifically, the right to political participation within the framework of the Inter-American system of human rights, in order to identify the main legal, doctrinal and jurisprudential instruments that protect that right and make it justiciable. In the same direction, we seek to review the state of democracy, particularly in the Latin American and Caribbean region, through situations that will serve as practical cases to reflect the present and future challenges and threats to the right to political participation, the rule of law, and the representative democracies. | |
