O presente trabalho traz como tema principal o papel exercido pelos Estados Unidos durante o período pré-golpe militar de 1964 no Brasil. O problema de pesquisa centrou-se em saber qual foi a atuação americana nesse cenário, utilizando-se de uma pesquisa de natureza pura, exploratória, qualitativa, bibliográfica e documental. Para abordar o assunto, primeiramente é necessário compreender a situação que o mundo passou durante a Guerra Fria e as tensões que ocorreram no Brasil durante esses anos. Dessa forma foi viável analisar a ação norte-americana. A ideia desse trabalho surgiu devido às manifestações populares que ocorreram no Brasil nos últimos anos e materiais estudados pela autora. Uma parte da população acredita que um novo regime militar seria a solução para os problemas nacionais, porém, o que levou a instalação do antigo regime é pouco abordado. Ao fim, com todos os objetivos alcançados, foi possível identificar o que levou os Estados Unidos a intervir no cotidiano brasileiro e como isso foi oportunizadoThis research has as main theme the role played by the United States during the precoup period of 1964, in Brazil and the research problem is to know what the American role in this scenario was. Using a pure nature, exploratory, qualitative, literature and documents research. To approach the issue, we must first understand the situation that the world was during the Cold War and the tensions that occurred in Brazil during those years. This way was possible to analyze the US action. The idea of this research emerged due to popular manifestations that took place in Brazil in recent years and materials studied by the author. Part of the population believes that a new military regime would be the solution to national problems, however, which prompted the installation of the old regime is rarely approached.
