Resumen
Considering the end of the supersonic commercial transport back in the 2000’s, this paper aims to show the possibilities of this transportation, as well as its viability, reducing flight times and increasing efficiency of long-haul flights. The new technologies like sonic boom abatement fairings, wing design and turbofan engines with low bypass ratio and high fuel efficiency are opening new horizons toward supersonic commercial flights, breaking aerodynamic, regulatory and economic barriers. Thus, it is observed that despite this transportation ended up formerly, in the near future the skies will be full of supersonic aircraft connecting with high speeds the faraway destinations around the globe.
