Resumen
The aim of this research was to investigate the psychological aspects of
female soccer athletes through a Scope Review. The PRISMA recommendations
(Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses) were used.
The review protocol was registered in the Osf Open Science. The search was
performed in the PubMed Database and the terms used were according to MeSH
(Medical Subject Headings) and correlated, using Boolean operators for the
combinations. Searches were in title, abstract and keyword words. The selection of
articles was made by two researchers and all records were saved and analyzed in an
electronic spreadsheet. From the selected articles, information about participants,
intervention, outcome and data related to the study design and bibliometrics were
extracted. Of the 1776 records found, 77 met the criteria and were included in the
review. The results revealed that despite its importance, the scientific production on
psychological aspects in female soccer athletes is still low, indicating a small growth
in the last six years. Women soccer athletes from the United States were the most
investigated, followed by Spanish, Portuguese and Norwegian athletes. The most
investigated levels were professional and university. Regarding the most studied
psychological aspects in female soccer athletes, anxiety and motivation were the
most present in the articles. In most studies, psychological aspects were associated
with other variables, with physiological and performance being the most common. As
for the design of the revised, cross-sectional and experimental studies were the most
used. Therefore, it is concluded that further research on psychological aspects in
female soccer athletes is of paramount importance, favoring and contributing to the
advancement of the sport, with better athletic performance and better performance,
enhancing the decision-making of everyone involved in this environment.
meio.
