trabalho discute a voluntariedade do fenômeno migratório e as relações de poder no núcleo
familiar e social.
refugiadas no Brasil. Understanding the urgency of the cause of refuge and the mainstreaming of gender
and empowerment issues, this study aims to investigate the role of female entrepreneurship in
the relocation of Syrian refugee families in Brazil. The paper discusses the voluntariness of
the migration phenomenon and the power relations within the family and social nuclei. The
condition of refugee women as development agents is also recognized, and how collective
actions are applied to refugee communities. It also discusses the definition of
entrepreneurship, relevant public policies and the profile of entrepreneurs in Brazil, bringing
four examples of entrepreneurial refugee women. It likewise provides the current situation of
asylum applications in Brazil and Europe, and the different projects to encourage
entrepreneurship intended for refugee women in Brazil.
