Embora o perfil sociodemográfico seja um conjunto de características que denota a capacidade de alterar a proporcionalidade da ocorrência do estresse em diversos estudos psicossociais, poucos trabalhos visaram ao escrutínio teórico do impacto particular da idade e do status socioeconômico sobre sua distribuição social. Diante do exposto, julgou-se necessário reunir importantes achados já documentados e apontar tópicos relevantes para investigações futuras na temática. Por fim, este estudo objetivou revisar a literatura acerca das relações entre idade, status socioeconômico e o estresse, além de caracterizar os modos de interpretação da distribuição social do estresse, através das evidências obtidas em pesquisas nessa área._________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT: Although the sociodemographic profile is a set of characteristics that denote the capacity of changing the proportion of the occurrence of stress in several psychosocial studies, few studies were aimed the theoretical scrutiny of selective impact of age and socioeconomic status on the social distribution of stress. Then, it is necessary to gather important findings and to show relevant topics for future researches. Therefore, this study reviewed the literature that involving the relationship between age, socioeconomic status, and stress, and were characterized the ways of interpretation of its social distribution through the evidences obtained in investigations in this area.
