Abstract: Based on the studies of Geert Hofstede, this work had the following objectives: to determinate the perceptions of students and professors related to the presence and the ideal of eight dimensions of the organizational culture at three college schools in Brazil's inland; to compare the perceived real culture with the idealized culture of these Institutions; and to correlate the main cultural characteristics of those schools with their administrative and educational practices. A sample of 538 subjects participated in this study, among students and professors, answering some scales and inventories. The results showed that the dimensions affiliation orientation, uncertainty avoidance, achievement orientation, and future orientation are Significantly perceived as the most important in the three schools. The best evaluated schools and the schools viewed as with the best perspectives in the future are those with high tendency to avoid uncertainty, high affiliation orientation, future orientation, achievement orientation, and low levels of assertiveness, individualism, masculinity, and power distance.
