The study analyzed the participation of family producers in agricultural production in Pará. Because of this, the work is part of the following problem: How is family farming (PA) in Pará characterized and how has it contributed to rural development in the state of Pará? The methodology used was quali-quantitative, based on secondary data through database research, such as the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) and specialized bibliography with regard to the theme AF. The results showed that agricultural production is strongly associated with family farming, which proved to be competitive even with producers of more intense agriculture.O estudo analisou a participação dos produtores familiares na produção agropecuária paraense. Por conta disso, o trabalho parte do seguinte problema: Como está caracterizada a agricultura familiar (AF) paraense e como esta tem contribuído para o desenvolvimento rural no estado do Pará? A metodologia utilizada foi a quali-quantitativa, fundamentada em dados secundários através de pesquisa em banco de dados, como o Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE) e bibliografia especializada no que se refere ao tema AF.
