dc.descriptionThe present article deals with  the pre-historic occupation of   the equinoctial Amazonian seashore using as a leading axis the resultsobtained from archaeological research undertaken at the Bacanga shellmound  in  São Luís, Maranhão. Fieldwork  at  the mentioned shellmound  indicated  occupation  by  fshing,  gathering,  hunting, and  pottery  production  populations  settled  in  the  region  from 6.600 to 900 yBP. The investigation sought to place the study in the broad context of  the inestigations already carried out in the area, in order to fnd support for the current case study interpretation.Key words: Ceramics, shell mounds, Amazonian equinoctial sea-shore.en-US
dc.descriptionEl presente artículo trata de la ocupación pre-histórica de la costa ecuatorial Amazónica a partir de  los  resultados obtenidos en la pesquisa  arqueológica  realizada  en  el  conchal de Bacanga  en São Luís, Maranhão, cuyos trabajos de campo muestran vestigios materiales de populaciones pescadoras, recolectoras, cazadoras y ceramistas establecidas en la región cerca de 6.600 hasta 900 años AP. La investigaión buscó parámetros bibliográfcos que pudiesen sustentar afrmaciones  relacionadas a  la cerámica antigua en  los conchales de la costa ecuatorial amazónica visando fundamentar las presentes interpretaciones sobre el objeto de estudio.Palabras-claves: cerámica, conchal, costa ecuatorial Amazónica.es-ES

dc.descriptionO presente artigo trata da ocupação pré-histórica do litoral equatorial amazônico, a partir dos resultados obtidos na pesquisa arqueológica realizada no sambaqui do Bacanga, em São Luís, Maranhão. Os trabalhos de campo evidenciaram vestígios materiais de populações pescadoras-coletoras-caçadoras e ceramistas estabelecidas na região entre 6.600 e 900 anos AP. A pesquisa buscou explorar na bibliografa pertinente parâmetros que pudessem sustentar  afrmações relacionadas  à  cerâmica  antiga  em  sambaquis do litoral equatorial amazônico, visando fundamentar as interpretações aqui propostas.Palavras-chave: Cerâmica, sambaqui, litoral equatorial amazônico.pt-BR
