A árvore é extremamente
The yellow ipê, Tabebuia chrysotricha (Mart. Ex DC.) Standl., Is a native forest species that occurs from the state of Espírito Santo to Santa Catarina. The tree is extremely ornamental, being much used for afforestation in squares and streets, due to its small size. The objective of this work was to evaluate the germination of T. chrysotricha seeds in 5 different substrates. The study consisted in monitoring the germination of 500 seeds divided into 5 treatments, distributed in 4 completely randomized blocks. The counts were performed daily up to 30 days after sowing. The substrates that presented superior results of IVG and TMG were, respectively, vermiculite and soil mixtures (soil + sand + bovine manure [2: 2: 1]), and the soil substrate presented lower results in all the evaluated questions. It is concluded that seed germination of T. chrysotricha presents superior results when sown on vermiculite substrate.
