| dc.description | Publicados nos anos de 1940, os primeiros textos da escritora brasileira Clarice Lispector – “O triunfo”, “Obsessão” e “A fuga” – contam as histórias de três protagonistas mulheres que vivenciam experiências de autoconhecimento, liberdade, desamparo e abandono relacionadas à condição de casadas própria do início do século XX. Este trabalho objetivou analisar comparativamente os três contos citados relacionando-os à teoria feminista e de gênero. Assim, chegou-se ao conceito de androginia, o qual curvou-se a uma interpretação possível da obra clariceana em seus momentos iniciais. Para tanto, partiu-se de grupos teóricos dos estudos de gênero, através de nomes como Joan Scott, Monique Wittig, Sandra Sousa e Tania Swain. Além de acrescer-se a este empreendimento a teoria literária e crítica especializada de Lispector, através dos estudos de Benedito Nunes, Ligia Chiappini, Nádia Battella Gotlib e Norman Friedman. Dessa forma, percebeu-se que os primeiros contos clariceanos podem ser considerados como laboratórios narrativos para a construção da obra posterior da escritora, pois há uma tendência de as personagens repetirem hábitos, comportamentos e padrões psicológicos reconfigurados dentro de cada ficção. Por fim, ainda se notou que as categorias binárias de gênero – masculino e feminino – não serviam para a análise das protagonistas de Lispector, uma vez que uma possível leitura da obra é a de que a narrativa clariceana opta pela androginia ao nível psicológico de suas personagens. | dc.description | Published in the 1940’s, the first texts from Brazilian writer Clarice Lispector – “O triunfo” (“The Triumph”), “Obsessão” (“Obsession”) and “A fuga” (“The Escape”) – tell the stories of three women protagonists that live experiences of self-actualization, freedom, forsakenness and abandonment related to the marriage conditions particular to the early 20 th century. This work aims at analyzing comparatively the three mentioned short stories from the perspective of the feminist and gender theories. Thus, the concept of androgyny was reached, which lends itself to a possible interpretation of the Claricean oeuvre in its first moments. For that, the starting point were the works of theoretical groups of gender studies, through names such as Joan Scott, Monique Witting, Sandra Sousa and Tania Swain. In addition to these, literary theory and specialized critiques on Lispector were employed in this endeavor, through the studies of Benedito Nunes, Ligia Chiappini, Nádia Battella Gotlib and Norman Friedman. Thus, it was discerned that the first Claricean short stories could be considered as narrative workshops, whose tools were employed in the author’s later output, once there is a tendency, among the characters, to repeat habits, behaviors and psychological patterns, reconfigured anew in each fiction. Finally, it was noticed that binary gender categories – male and female – weren’t useful for the analysis of Lispector’s characters, once that a possible reading of this body of work is that the Claricean narrative opts for androgyny for its characters, in a psychological level.
