This paper discusses the presence of boar hunting in the 17th century poetry, focusing on compositions by Portuguese and Spanish poets. In order to do so, we arranged the text as follows: in the introduction, we exposed the status of the hunting from the 15th to the 17th century. Thereafter, we presented some cases of the presence of such status in the lyric poetry, in particular in the laudatory compositions. Lastly, we exhibit the same presence in narrative poetry by using mythological poems composed by 17th-century Portuguese and Spanish authors, highlighting the relevance of this practice.Neste artigo, pretendemos demonstrar a prática da caça de javalis em poesia seiscentista, utilizando como exemplos privilegiados poemas de autores portugueses e espanhóis. Para tal, apresentamos o texto organizado no seguinte modo: na introdução, explanamos o estatuto da caça ao menos desde o século XV até o século XVII, e mais especificamente da caça de javalis. Em seguida, apresentamos alguns casos da presença desse estatuto operado em poesia lírica, sobretudo na de louvor. Por fim, apontamos a mesma presença em poesia narrativa, utilizando fábulas mitológicas compostas por autores portugueses e espanhóis seiscentistas, evidenciando a importância dessa prática.
