| dc.description | The text is constructed from the perspective of clarifying recent economic changes in the tobacco farming Region of Rio Grande do Sul. The general lines of the development and in it the tobacco farming region, as a case in which the sector the services and industries that they produce for local consumption, will occupy a space important in the regional context. The main result of this process suggests that the current regional economic development stage, should incorporate the inclusion of new elements in their dynamics that include the prospect of diversification of the productive activities and services. | en-US |

Consideram-se as linhas gerais do desenvolvimento gaúcho e nela a região fumicultora, como um caso em que o setor serviços e indústrias que produzem para o consumo local, passam a ocupar um espaço importante no contexto regional.
