Avalia??o do potencial coagulante/floculante da semente de Moringa Ole?fera Lam (Moringaceae) na purifica??o de ?gua da Lagoa do Apodi-RN

Water is one of the most important goods for man, about 97.5% of the water on the planet is salty, present in the seas and oceans, the other 2.5% are fresh water available for human consumption, present mainly rivers, lakes and glaciers. Even with very little fresh water for people's consumption, some of it still suffers from the contamination caused by man-made activities. In view of this problem, this work aims to evaluate the potential of coagulation present in the Moringa Ole?fera Lam seed in the treatment of polluted waters of the Apodi Lagoon, located in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. Initially, a water collection was carried out in Apodi Lagoon and sent to the laboratory of the IFRN Apodi campus, where some physical-chemical analyzes were performed. For the water treatment procedure two types of experiments were carried out, one water sample was submitted to a procedure with the moringa seeds after the oil was extracted, while another water sample was treated with the seeds containing the oil. After the water purification process with the moringa seeds, the physical-chemical analyzes were carried out again to make a comparison of the efficiency of the seeds. The results obtained with this methodology were considered very satisfactory, because in all the physical-chemical analyzes, there was a reduction of the analyzed concentrations, thus indicating that the moringa presents a very good coagulating capacity. The results of Electric Conductivity (EC), Hydrogenion Potential (pH), Alkalinity, Chloride and Salinity presented the best results when the treatment was performed with the moringa seeds without the oil, while the Total Solids, Turbidity, Total Hardness , Hardness of Calcium and Magnesium and Nitrate, presented the best results with the treatment using the moringa seeds with the oil. A ?gua ? um dos bens mais importantes para o homem, cerca de 97,5% da ?gua existente no planeta ? salgada, presentes nos mares e oceanos, os outros 2,5% s?o de ?gua doce dispon?vel para o consumo humano, presente principalmente em rios, lagos e geleiras. Mesmo diante de uma quantidade muito pequena de ?gua doce para o consumo das pessoas, parte dela ainda sofre com as contamina??es provocadas pelas atividades realizadas pelo homem. Diante desta problem?tica este trabalho tem por objetivo avaliar o potencial de coagula??o presente na semente de Moringa Ole?fera Lam no tratamento das ?guas polu?das da Lagoa do Apodi, situada no estado do Rio Grande do Norte. Inicialmente, foi realizada uma coleta de ?gua na Lagoa do Apodi e encaminhada para o laborat?rio do IFRN campus Apodi, onde foram realizadas algumas an?lises f?sico-qu?micas. Para o procedimento de tratamento da ?gua foram realizados dois tipos de experimentos, uma amostra de ?gua foi submetida a um procedimento com as sementes de moringa ap?s ter sido extra?do o ?leo, enquanto outra amostra de ?gua foi tratada com as sementes contendo o ?leo. Ap?s o processo de purifica??o da ?gua com as sementes de moringa, realizou-se novamente as an?lises f?sico-qu?micas para se fazer um comparativo da efici?ncia das sementes. Os resultados obtidos com esta metodologia, foram considerados bastante satisfat?rios, pois em todas as an?lises f?sico-qu?micas, houve uma redu??o das concentra??es analisadas, indicando assim que a moringa apresenta uma capacidade coagulante muito boa. Os resultados de Condutividade El?trica (CE), Potencial Hidrogeni?nico (pH), Alcalinidade, Cloreto e Salinidade apresentaram os melhores resultados quando o tratamento era realizado com as sementes de moringa sem o ?leo, enquanto que as an?lises de S?lidos Totais, Turbidez, Dureza Total, Dureza de C?lcio e Magn?sio e Nitrato, apresentaram os melhores resultados com o tratamento utilizando as sementes de moringa com o ?leo.
