Este artículo presenta un análisis acerca del lugar ocupado por el sujeto docente en el movimiento social chileno por la educación. Dicho análisis se construye a partir de los hallazgos de una investigación recientemente realizada con docentes de enseñanza secundaria de Santiago, cuyo objetivo fue comprender las dimensiones de la politicidad del trabajo en el discurso docente. El enfoque del estudio fue el análisis crítico del discurso, utilizando el modelo de análisis trifactorial de Fairclough. Encontramos que el discurso producido por los docentes se enmarca en los límites del orden discursivo hegemónico. Los docentes niegan la dimensión política del trabajo, asociándola a lo revindicativo institucional. En su discurso, la realidad educativa y social se muestra producida como evento natural, no susceptible a modificación por la acción de los sujetos. Su discurso sobre la memoria es fragmentado; los docentes y estudiantes son producidos en él como actores pasivos de la realidad educativa. Estos fenómenos discursivos se distancian de aspectos centrales del discurso construido por organizaciones estudiantiles a lo largo de la última década.This article presents an analysis about the place of the teacher as a subject in the Chilean social movement for education. That analysis was constructed based on the findings of a recent research conducted on Santiago’s secondary education teachers. Its objective was to understand the political dimensions of work in the discourse of the teacher. The study focused on the critical analysis of the discourse, using Fairclough’s three-factor analysis model. We found that the discourse produced by teachers is framed by the limits of the hegemonic discourse order. Teachers deny the political dimension of work, associating it with institutional claims settlement issues. In their discourse, the educational and social reality gets exposed as a natural event that is not subject to modification by actions by subjects. Their discourse about memory is fragmented; teachers and students are produced in it as passive actors of the educational reality. These discourse phenomena set themselves far away from central aspects of the discourse constructed by student organizations throughout the last decade.
