The objective of this study was to compare performance in tests that assess attention (sustained, selective, and working memory), language (comprehensive and expressive), executive functions (organization, planning, inhibition, verbal and graphic fluency, verbal abstraction, and cognitive flexibility) and social cognition (recognition of emotional expressions and understanding of social situations) in ten children from 8 to 12 years of age diagnosed with autism spectrum with and without cognitive deficits, and three children from the control group of the Roosevelt Children's Orthopedics Institute. from the city of Bogota. An analytical empirical method was used with a cross-sectional comparative descriptive design. This evaluation was carried out from the conformation of a protocol of specific tests of neuropsychology and psychology. The results showed limitations due to the size of the sample and the heterogeneity in its performance. The participants with a diagnosis of Autism showed difficulties in dimensions of all the domains evaluated, consistent with reviewed studies. Participants diagnosed with Asperger only presented difficulties in planning and organization tasks. Future research is expected to adapt and standardize specific instruments for this population and to increase the size of the sample. Maestría Magíster en Neuropsicología Clínica
