La proliferación de armas nucleares ha sido y continúa siendo, un debate entre los académicos, estrategas militares y estadistas. La orden del presidente Vladimir Putin de poner en alerta máxima las fuerzas disuasorias nucleares de Rusia, ha elevado el temor de una posible guerra nuclear, en pleno conflicto entre Rusia y Ucrania. A través de un método histórico descriptivo del funcionamiento de las armas nucleares durante la Guerra Fría, este artículo tiene como objetivo principal, el análisis sobre el riesgo nuclear en la actual crisis entre Rusia y Ucrania.
