Abstract: This article arises from the research exercise of the doctoral thesis Resignification of the territory and its cultural identity through the management, use and appropriation of the Colombian Coffee Cultural Landscape brand. The role of women in the coffee identity is analyzed based on the representation of the chapolera, present in the collective imaginary. In order to understand the changes in the occupational sphere of women, we identify actions of the Colombian Coffee Cultural Landscape brand that influence the construction of their identity. Three variables are addressed: gender, cultural identity and place branding. For the descriptive study, the focus group and the semi-structured interview were used as instruments for the collection of information, focusing on the idealized perception of women as the center of coffee production. It is established that the role of women is minimized within the coffee industry and that the PCCC brand needs to be structured with the role of women in coffee production.
