Resumen
The present study aims analyze the theoretical and empirical evidence related to the transmission of COVID-19 infection through breastfeeding, for which a narrative review was carried out with the purpose of obtaining information about the topic in development and for this the following databases were used: Academic Google, VHL, ProQuest, PubMed, SciELO and Colombian Ministry of Health. The selected sample consisted of 13 articles, 7 in Spanish (53.8%) and 6 in English (46.2%), of which 3 were carried out in Spain, equivalent to 23%, Brazil 15.3%, Colombia, USA, United Kingdom, Italy, Chile, Peru, Mexico and Ecuador with 1 article published, that is, 7.69%.According to the literature consulted, different studies were found that analyzed the presence of SARS-CoV-2 RNA in the breast milk of pregnant women with COVID-19, obtaining as results the non-presence of the virus in the human milk samples studied. They also state that breast milk contains antibodies that attack the virus, preventing it from being transmitted from mother to child, in such a way that these studies have allowed the nursing staff to continue promoting breastfeeding as the best and only food for their children. Likewise, mothers should be advised on biosafety guidelines to prevent contamination by COVID 19 from the clinical and community contexts. Keywords: SARS-COV-2, breastfeeding, ne INTRODUCCIÓN 1 1.
