Resumen
This research aimed to make a comparative analysis between the pedagogical models that prevail, from the perceptions of students and teachers, in the official educational institutions of the municipality of Montería. The work was approached from the analytical empirical approach, with a descriptive non-experimental design. Through surveys, the pedagogical models that prevail in the perception of mathematics teachers were identified, as well as the pedagogical models present in the pedagogical practices that are developed in the classroom from the perception of the students, to later establish if there is coherence. . The results indicate that there is agreement between the perceptions regarding the characteristics of the dominant pedagogical model, which is the developmentalist one, however, there are significant differences in the perceptions of the traditional model, which means that students consider that teachers are more traditional in the classroom than they accept in the surveys. In addition, some points of improvement are detected, such as: the need to promote research, the flexibility of programming, the evaluation of qualitative aspects and the relationship of the area of mathematics with the other areas.
