¿Se debería derogar la Ley TIC?

Abstract

Las Tecnologías de Información y Comunicación (TIC) han tenido un papel crucial en el progreso de nuestra sociedad, y seguirán siendo una estrategia fundamental para reducir las brechas sociales del país. Este artículo analiza la importancia económica del sector TIC en Colombia, las demandas planteadas por el Comité Nacional de Paro (CNP) sobre la “Ley TIC” de 2019, y la viabilidad y pertinencia de derogar esta ley. El estudio concluye que la “Ley TIC” es un paso fundamental para reducir brechas digitales y avanzar en la competitividad, aunque también le recomienda al Gobierno tener conversaciones abiertas y permanentes con los opositores de esta Ley; diálogos que conllevaran a mejores decisiones consensuadas para el país.

Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have played a crucial role in the progress of our society and will continue to be a fundamental strategy to reduce the country's social gaps. This article analyzes the economic importance of the ICT sector in Colombia, the demands raised by the National Strike Committee (CNP) on the "ICT Law" of 2019, and the feasibility and relevance of revoking this law. The study concludes that the "ICT Law" is a necessary step to reduce digital gaps and advance competitiveness, although it also recommends the Government to have an open and permanent talks with the opponents of this Law; dialogues that will create relevant consensus for the country.
