dc.description.abstract | El cáncer de cérvix (CC) es considerado una problemática de salud a nivel mundial, con alto impacto social y económico en los países en vía de desarrollo, afectando principalmente la cuarta y sexta década de la vida; está estrechamente relacionado con el Virus del Papiloma Humano (VPH), el cual se encuentra asociado a comportamientos sexuales de riesgo, como el no uso de preservativo, promiscuidad, inicio temprano de relaciones sexuales, desconocimiento de los métodos de tamizaje como la realización del test de ADN-VPH, la citología cervical, y la vacunación contra el VPH; la existencia de medidas preventivas ubica al CC como un cáncer evitable, sin embargo un seguimiento inadecuado de las lesiones premalignas conlleva a una detección tardía del cáncer de cérvix y por tanto un aumento en las complicaciones y un pronóstico desfavorable. | |
