The present research project, whose main objective was to develop a pedagogical
strategy supported by a mobile application, which favored the use of spelling norms
in sixth grade students from two educational institutions, set out to impact said
community in the field of spelling. The subject was approached with a quantitative
research, detailing the difficulties observed through a diagnostic test and then
designing, building and applying the pedagogical proposal that motivated the 40
participants of the project, towards the apprehension of the norms spelling. After the
students had contact with the APPTOR mobile application, it was determined that,
in one of the EIs, the level of improvement based on correct answers increased by
16% while in the second EI it was 7%. Among the most relevant conclusions are the
improvement of spelling skills in the intervened students. The students stated that
they did not feel motivated towards learning the spelling rules before working with
the APTOR App, a situation that changed after the pedagogical proposal was
applied. The students began to take care of the way they wrote in their conversations
on social networks and academic papers. The students participating in the project
verified that the use of cell phones can go beyond the common use of a young
person, stating that learning can be as fun as playing. Finally, it should be noted that
the investigative process took place in full isolation due to the pandemic generated
by Covid-19, a fact that forced the researchers to make modifications with respect
to the initial design; However, this fact did not prevent the investigation from being
carried out and, on the contrary, had a positive impact on the academic life of the
intervened population
