and with a high morphological diversity; however, the number of species registered in
Colombia does not reflect the diversity of Tricorythodes for the country. Therefore, the
objective of this work was to delimit some species of Tricorythodes and update the phylogeny
of the genus by including new taxa taking into account combined molecular and
morphological data. Phylogenies were constructed using molecular information from the
mitochondrial Cytochrome Oxidase I (COI) gene and from 49 morphological characters (27
discrete and 22 continuous characters). For the reconstruction of the phylogenies, the
methods of maximum parsimony, maximum likelihood and Bayesian inference were used.
In addition, the species delimitation methods ABGD, bPTP, GMYC, ASAP and iBPP were
used. In the results, the monophyly of the group was corroborated and 17 species of the genus
were delimited, among which 15 are recognized taxa for the genus and two new species
described here that can form a species complex. Considering the above, the use of integrative
taxonomy for the delimitation and description of species is highlighted. Universitario Biólogo(a)
