El presente ensayo tiene como fin defender que la inclusión en la educación superior debe ir más allá del INES (Índice de Inclusión para la Educación Superior) creado por el Ministerio de Educación Superior, ya que es necesario repensar el funcionamiento de este nivel educativo con el fin de promover la inclusión multidimensional y real de todos los estudiantes. Para respaldar esa idea, se revisó bibliografía especializada y el funcionamiento del indicador con el fin de realizar un balance y reflexionar sobre el proceso de inclusión en la educación superior en Colombia, sus limitaciones y sus retos de cara a los requerimientos del siglo XXI.The purpose of this essay is to defend that inclusion in higher education must go more beyond the INES (Inclusion Index for Higher Education) created by the Ministry of Higher Education, since it is necessary to rethink the functioning of this educational level with in order to promote the multidimensional and real inclusion of all students. To back up this idea, specialized bibliography and the operation of the indicator were reviewed in order to take stock and reflect on the process of inclusion in higher education in Colombia, its limitations and its challenges facing the requirements of the 21st century.Especialización
