dc.description.abstractLa obesidad infantil es una enfermedad crónica compleja cuya expresión fenotípica aparece en un entorno que ofrece una alimentación hipercalórica y fomenta el sedentarismo, su repercusión en la salud es conocida y predispone mortalidad precoz en la edad adulta. Con este estudio descriptivo se pretende caracterizar una población estudiantil de una institución escolar pública de Bucaramanga, definir la prevalencia de obesidad e identificar los factores asociados. A futuro ensamblar la primera cohorte de registros epidemiológicos en la población escolar de Santander.
