Resumen
In this paper, he presents the results of the research on the economic and environmental benefits that the municipality of Rionegro Santander would obtain, by moving from current conventional energy to renewable energy, in PUBLIC LIGHTING, for the concern of the high cost of the energy purchased from the Santander electrification company and the environmental commitment. It is working on the option of generating energy with vehicular traffic, taking advantage of the flow of the highway to the sea, converting mechanical energy into electrical energy. The piezoelectric generators are located on the road, under the asphalt, in ditches not too deep for the whole system, and the elements generators are placed in the upper part, just 3 cm from the surface. The generators are connected to the substation located next to the road and from there they are transported to the transformers to be distributed by the networks. The objective was to demonstrate the feasibility of generating energy on the highway, with the installation of piezoelectric devices in the two kilometers through which the vehicles pass in the municipal urban area; currently the municipality pays monthly street lighting consumption $ 27,955,430,00.
