This research aimed to identify the coping strategies most used by people living with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV / AIDS) in Colombia, this work is linked to one of the lines of research of the Faculty of Psychology of the University Santo Tomás, called quality of life and well-being in health contexts.A quantitative research was carried out with a non-experimental, transitional, descriptive design, through a documentary review, collecting scientific literature from the database Psycinfo, Redaly and Scielo, articles published from 2006 to 2022, making use of the prism statement for the specification of the criteria, 3 articles were selected in total that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the data analysis was carried out from Analytical Research Summaries (RAIS), thus it was possible to determine what have been the research advances around the coping strategies used by HIV/AIDS patients positive in Colombia. It was found that the strategies seeking social support, optimism and religion, are the most used by infected subjects, and less frequently, avoidance, isolation and substance use strategies were found. Related psychological variables such as depression, anxiety, social adaptation and quality of life were identified. Finally, the importance of strengthening the use of active coping strategies such as problem solving and seeking support is highlighted since they are the ones that contribute positively.
