Resumen
The border closure with Venezuela produced big changes in the commercial dynamics of the department of Norte de Santander, generating effects on economic and comercial variables that influenced the growth of the region taking into account that Norte de Santander had the most active border for Exchange of goods and services between Colombia and Venezuela. This is how, through a descriptive and correlational analysis, the effect generated by each comercial economic variable was identified in the GDP of the department. Likewise, through the simple regression analysis analysis method, three models were created that demonstrated the relationship between GDP with the coefficient of imports, exports and trade dependence. Having as purpose, determinate the main axes on which the commercial development of the department should be based, these being: the diversification of commercial partners, improvement in political confidence and the promotion of potential products.
