Resumen
Urban expansion in Latin American countries is disorderly and occurs through illegal, pirate, informal or sub-normal settlements. In Colombia, these settlements arise without state planning and are located in peripheral areas with precarious conditions. This study identifies the effects on families of urban road plans proposed in the POT (Plan de ordenamiento territorial) for Villavicencio in the nine sub-normal neighbourhoods, using Civil 3D software, affected neighbourhoods were delimited and the size of the affected area and the layout of road alternatives with less affectation were determined. It was concluded that the road plans with alternatives reduced the built-up areas by a range of 28.66% to 100%.
