Resumen
Funza is a municipality located to the west of the city of Bogotá, in the department of
Cundinamarca. Its culture and identity are directly related to pre-Colombian elements that are
present in the names of its streets, the chief of its main park, and the name given to the
inhabitants of the municipality, known as Guapucheros. Given the importance that this town
places on its past and history, it is essential to create a product like "Memorias Guapucheras"
that allows for the preservation of the memories of the older adults in the community and
serves as a means for the new generations to access this knowledge.
This editorial piece aims to adapt oral tradition to a new, more interactive and dynamic form of
communication, specifically designed for the youth of Funza. Its primary purpose is to
immortalize the knowledge passed down by previous generations, belonging to Proceda Casa
del Adulto Mayor, in order to safeguard the cultural heritage and traditions of the Guapuchera
community.
