The main objective of this architectural project is to design a public library in the Comuna 7 of the city of Bucaramanga, with a focus on accessibility for people with visual disabilities. Given that this area is an important educational center in the city, the aim is to create an inclusive space that is accessible to the entire population. The main design strategy is based on inclusive architecture from a neurocognitive approach, which involves considering the specific needs of people with visual disabilities in the library's design. Universal accessibility is a fundamental aspect of the architectural proposal, which implies compliance with the urban and regulatory aspects required in the area, to create dignified and suitable spaces for all people. The library is intended to be a space that promotes learning and social inclusion, where all people can access information and culture equitably. The architectural proposal considers technical and functional aspects to ensure accessibility for people with visual disabilities, such as the location and arrangement of spaces, materials and finishes, lighting, and tactile and sound signaling. In addition, the aim is to create a satisfactory user experience by generating comfortable, safe spaces with adequate ventilation and thermal comfort. In summary, this architectural project seeks to design a public library with a focus on inclusion and universal accessibility for people with visual disabilities in the Comuna 7 of Bucaramanga, a highly educational sector of the city. The main design strategy is to apply inclusive architecture based on the neurocognitive approach, considering the necessary urban and regulatory aspects to create dignified and suitable spaces for the entire population. The library will become an inclusive and accessible space, allowing people with visual disabilities full access to information and culture, thus promoting equity and social participation.
