Resumen
The densification of cities is a contemporary phenomenon that also affects Villavicencio. This city has grown and become denser in recent decades, not only due to the expansion and proliferation of informal neighborhoods but also due to the self-built transformations of popular neighborhoods that were originally planned as single-family housing developments. This densification has not been controlled, thus failing to achieve better conditions.
The objective of this thesis is to propose housing typologies for a more suitable occupation of the properties in Villavicencio, considering their morphological characteristics and relationship with the context. To achieve this, the phenomenon of densification was first understood as an aspect that has been addressed over time. Then, the specificities of the densification phenomenon in Villavicencio were identified, considering the characteristics of its properties. Based on this, models of vertical occupation were proposed, based on more suitable typologies for the compact nature of the city, offering a better quality of life and greater sustainability, considering the passive environmental conditioning that property dimensions can allow.
This research is cross-cutting with the two lines of knowledge deepening in the Faculty of Architecture: Sustainability and Territory.
