        Resumen
Colombia is the third largest exporter of coke in the world, and its production is concentrated mainly in the departments of Boyacá and Cundinamarca. However, in the coking process there is the generation of fines that have no use and therefore are accumulated in piles in the open air, and as a consequence there is air pollution through the air transport of particulate matter. Therefore, different researchers have proposed to agglomerate coke and coal fines to incorporate them to different productive processes as fuel, in smelting furnaces, as a substitute for firewood, among others. In the company Germán Franco Carbón S.A.S., through an internship agreement, an investigation was developed with the objective of making briquettes of 4.5 cm with coke fines of 7 granulometries and as a binder starch was used, obtaining a percentage of ash briquettes between 25% - 27.3%, volatile material < 12% and a fixed carbon around 60%, in general good resistance was registered through the Drop Shatter test and the surface area of the samples studied are between 3.3 to 5.6 m2/g. On the other hand, within the framework of the internship, technical support was provided in the area of quality laboratories with the taking of samples and analysis of cokes and coals, and finally, two plans were formulated to contribute to the implementation of the OSHMS.
