Resumen
Ice Hockey is considered one of the fastest and most demanding sports in the world, therefore athletes must be in excellent physical condition, with well-defined skills and abilities for skating, because the risk of collision is high, due to the speed exerted when skating. When a player collides, he may present: traumatic brain injury. In addition, at the moment of impact there may be: lacerations, hemorrhages, bruises, hematomas, ischemia, cerebral edema, cerebral hernia. When TCE occurs, the DAL (Diffuse Axonal Injury) is appreciated, in which there is a homeostatic and metabolic imbalance and inflammation.
It is necessary to classify the severity of the traumatic patient, evidencing the degree of consciousness or coma, and finally possible post-traumatic amnesia. On the other hand, at the neuropsychological level, LAD can leave sequelae: difficulties to understand, learn, hinder the speed of information. this being one of the main causes of death and disability.
People who have had TCE at higher risk are: athletes and military. In the countries of the 3 world, mortality rates are higher due to delays in the provision of medical care.
It also occurs in athletes, traffic accidents, hence the use of a helmet is very important; we must promote the importance of sport in health; always preventing any accident, using the appropriate and mandatory accessories to protect life.
