In this work, an exhaustive analysis of the foundation of the building of the mayor's office of Villavicencio was carried out, considering the soil-structure interaction. The main objective was to evaluate how soil characteristics affect the behavior of the foundation and how the structure influences the surrounding soil. For this, the architectural plans of the project and specialized computational tools such as CYPECAD, GEO5 and PLAXIS 3D were used. In CYPECAD the building was modeled to obtain an accurate representation of its geometry, materials and support conditions. The applied loads and design specifications were taken into account in accordance with current Colombian regulations. Subsequently, GEO5 was used to perform detailed geotechnical analyses of the soil at the project site. Geotechnical studies, such as carrying capacity analysis and settlement calculation, were carried out using parameters obtained from geotechnical investigations. In addition, PLAXIS 3D, a software specialized in geotechnical analysis based on finite elements, was used to evaluate in detail the soil-structure interaction. The foundation and surrounding soil were modeled, considering the properties and behavior of the soil, as well as the loads applied to the building. By means of precise calculations, settlements, stresses and deformations in the foundation and structure were evaluated.
The results obtained in this study will allow informed decisions to be made in the design of the foundation, with the aim of guaranteeing the safety and adequate performance of the structure against seismic events and the geotechnical conditions of the site.
