Resumen
The LA CIRA INFANTAS field located in the township of El Centro, municipality of Barrancabermeja is today the most productive and oldest field in Colombia, since 1918 the Tropical Oil Co discovers the Infantas 1 and 2 wells, leading to the creation of the Colombian oil company ECOPETROL, from there to date there are 1837 active and producing wells, 968 injector wells and nine gathering stations, having a récord production in 1939 when it produced more than 64.971 barrels of oil per day.
Barrancabermeja, officially known as the Special, Port, Industrial, Tourist and Biodiverse District of Barrancabermeja, is a district located in the department of Santander on the banks of the Magdalena River. It is the municipality with the most important industrial development in Santander, home to the largest oil refinery in Colombia, bordered to the north by the municipality of Puerto Wilches, to the south by the municipalities of Puerto Parra, Simacota and San Vicente de Chucurí, to the east by the municipality of San Vicente de Chucurí and Girón, and to the west by the Magdalena River and the municipality of Yondó, department of Antioquia.
Taking into account the above, a demographic growth has been observed in the population centers and urban centers in the rural área of the municipality of Barrancabermeja, precisely where the CIRA Infantas field is located, which is why social and economic situations have arisen in these areas where the population of the urban center of Barrancabermeja moves to the rural área, This mobilization occurs in search of employment or a place to solve the lack of housing, making informal settlements, due to the ineffectiveness of the mayor's office to generate rural housing projects and little urban planning control.
The demographic component is of vital importance for the study of human behavior, the efficient use of available resources, social interaction, economic development and how it influences the sustainable integrity of society, among others, in this sense, the definition of the environment can make it possible to adopt political measures to contribute to the sustained growth over time of a given sector, so that the compatible extension of all aspects that make up a society are relevant in land use planning. In the municipality of Barrancabermeja, the importance of the industry and the national contribution it makes to the general growth can be evidenced.
To analyze the increase in the urban área of the urban área of the town of El Centro of the municipality of Barrancabermeja, a multitemporal analysis of satellite images is used to show the dynamics in the growth of the urban área from 2012 to 2022, using free use images from Google Earth of the years 2013-2015-2018-2022, Also based on this analysis, the official cartography of the Land Use Plan of the municipality of Barrancabermeja Agreement 018 of 2002 and Agreement 033 of 2022 is also used, this information is a fundamental pillar for the analysis of the change in the urban perimeter of the township of El Centro.
