Resumen
The objective of this research was to characterize the cultivation process of the African palm in Villa Alejandra in the Catatumbo region located in the northeast of the department of Norte de Santander, Colombia, which began in 2018 with 20 hectares planted. To carry out this work, some objectives were established that allowed characterizing the African palm cultivation process and likewise, the existing methods, the waste and residues generated, as well as the economic and natural resources that are involved in it, were identified. said crop. Finally, a proposal for the flow of the palm cultivation process was designed, with which the optimization of resources such as wáter and money is sought, thus contributing to environmental sustainability, since in addition to promoting economic development, it minimizes the environmental impact.
