Thanks to technological advances, globalization and the competitiveness of companies, theyare the main actors for the emergence of changes in how to correctly and strategically planthe activities to be carried out in the search to achieve organizational objectives and that iswhy what the formulation of strategic direction takes a relevant role for the achievement ofresults. This article is selected when reviewing whether in Colombia companies are using thecorrect formulation for the strategic direction towards the fulfillment of corporate objectives, principles and action plans, allowing to know what their strategies are that have led them tohave an important market share. Therefore, through a study of the case of Almacenes Éxito,Avianca, among other Colombian organizations, the reader will be able to identify the actionsand the importance of managers when making a formulation for business strategic direction.Likewise, it is important to know that most of the companies in our country are small andmedium-sized companies which are unaware of strategic direction as a fundamental pillar toachieve their corporate objectives, for which the reader will have useful information to startthe path of formulation. towards strategic direction.
