Resumen
This paper is intended to analyse the influence of voltage and reactive power controls of synchronous distributed generation on islanding detection. The methods evaluated were Under/Over Frequency (UOF), Under/Over Voltage (UOV), Rate of Change of Frequency (ROCOF), Oscillation Frequency Estimation (EFO) and Vector Surge. In order to compare the performance of the techniques with each proposed control, islanding events, short circuits, load
coupling, capacitor bank coupling, adjacent branch decoupling, and islanding with different active power and reactive power imbalances were simulated. The methods for detecting islanding were implemented through code in MATLAB®. The distribution system used for the tests was
the IEEE 33 Bus diagram implemented in the Simulink tool. The performances of the islanding detection methods were evaluated based on the number of unintentional detections, the detection time, and the non-detection zone (NDZ). With this, the results were analysed by comparing the differences obtained between the simulations with voltage control and the simulations with reactive power control.
