dc.description.abstractTourism communication is an important element in the aspects that involve the good dissemination of a tourist destination. The organization of a planned, structured, continuous communication for a tourism product is crucial for greater visibility of the mix of attractions of a locality. In this sense, the present work consists of analyzing the importance of tourist communication in the dissemination of the attractions of the municipality of Toropi/RS, a municipality located in the central region of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The adopted methodology was qualitative, starting from a bibliographic review, in the second stage an on site visit to the tourist attractions of the municipality; in the third stage, the application of a questionnaire via the google forms platform to the municipality's community; in the fourth stage, an interview was carried out with representatives of the municipality's tourism department and subsequent analysis of the information. As a result, in relation to the dissemination of the attractions of the municipality of Toropi/RS, it was verified that some communication strategies are used, however it is perceived the need to expand them in relation to the dissemination of local tourist attractions; improvement of tourist signs; greater incentive of public policies for the promotion of local tourism.
