Resumen
This paper is the research result of a final course work and it aimed to situate the handicrafts job within the genre relations using, for so, Bourdieu’s (2012) thoughts. In this work he does not focus on the genre questions, but he focus on a symbolic dimension. According to him the male domination would be a particular way to see the symbolic violence, that is, the power imposing the meanings as legitimate, dissimulating the relations of strength that would give support to the own male strength. In order to visualize a way of thinking based on the dichotomies and oppositions, this work focus on the male/female, considering that the same can also occur with the poles tall/short, poor/rich or beautiful/ugly. The theoretical reference about handicrafts was based on the author Richard Sennett (2012), who shows a prospect of the handicrafts along the time. The handicrafts faced many changes along the time. Firstly, the products were made in the own houses, in small environments with a poor infrastructure. Along the time, the production becomes professional. Small agro industries were created and they got to legalize their products. Other people continue to produce informally, but without leaving aside their handicraft production, which differentiates their products and gives an identity to the same. So, considering the historical factors that influenced in the handicrafts manufacture , as well as in the elaboration of new habits, in which the regionalism and the socialization promote the typical handicrafts products, it is possible to say they interfere actively in the habits and in the people’s (involved in this job) life quality. In order to show the handicrafts, twenty rural properties in the cities of Faxinal do Soturno, Ivorá and Silveira Martins, in Quarta Colônia, during the year of 2012, were visited and observed. There, some questionnaires were applied and an observation as non-member was done
