In a constant search for new technologies to help and minimize the economic and environmental impacts, the research on new fuels and their methods of use for the generation of energy, through the burning of these, have been developed on a large scale. Taking into account the preposition of costs, an alternative is the use of ethanol fuel with high percentage of water. Its production is less costly because it does not require a rigid control over the amount of water next to ethanol. The present work presents a method for the detection of the volumetric fraction of water contained in ethanol. The feasibility of the proposed method, the description of the equipment and methods involved and the results will be analyzed. The technique involved in modeling the method, using the Leidenfrost effect and the boiling point
of each mixture, showed good results, with well been defined time intervals. The analysis of this method is performed through a heated electro-injector. The heating is powered through a Buck converter and the control of this is developed through Arduino® hardware. From the comparison to the methods developed by other works, this one presents results similar to to them and thus making feasible the present work to be reproduced as a product and presented to the industry
