In this work, it is proposed to obtain a program in Python that uses the panel method to
calculate aerodynamic coefficients in 2D profiles. For this, a constant distribution of dipoles
and an inviscid, potential and incompressible flow were considered. Therefore, improvements
were implemented and the program was validated with known aerodynamic profiles
through data from the bibliography and software. Still, the method was applied to profiles
considering simple flap and morphing. Through this, the results obtained were satisfactory
for symmetrical airfoils and for asymmetrical airfoils there is a gradual increase in divergences
with increasing camber. Such a study is justified due to the importance of obtaining
an algorithm that is fast, adaptable and capable of being coupled to other methodologies
contributing to future work and the development of indispensable skills for the aerospace
engineer’s job market.
