Resumen
The object of our research is in the area of the sociology of religion, and we direct our focus to the study of African religions prevalent in Rio Grande do Sul, among which we can highlight: the batuque, umbanda and kimbanda. The latter is directly connected to the specific object of our research, however, it is necessary to point out that, although Quimbanda emerged in the 1970s as an autonomous religion and detached from Umbanda, in most cases it does not manifest itself in this way. Predominantly, Quimbanda appears linked to Umbanda, mainly to the cross line, when it manifests itself as an external rite dedicated to the expansion and development of the line of exus and street people, this being the case of the one we are researching. Quimbanda for having a utilitarian nature, which is aimed at solving all kinds of problems, has gained a lot of popularity. We found several houses of religion that work with the three strands of African religiosity prevalent in RS, among these we chose to research one that brings together: the Temple of Umbanda Studies and Afro Ogum das Matas and Mãe Iansã, which develops the Umbanda Cruzada and Quimbanda; as well as, completing the religions worked in this terreira, there is also a batuque ilê, called Ilê Oba Ogun Adiolá and Yemanjá Bomi. This dissertation deals with the feast of the gypsies that took place in this house of religion on May 24, 2019, the day dedicated to Saint Sara Kali. The line of the gypsies is manifested in the kimbanda of this religious complex, therefore, it is a party where entities of the gypsy people and the people of the street manifest themselves together.
