The present study, characterized as a theoretical essay, aims to initiate a process of discussion and reflection covering the Training of Physical Education Teachers linked to the Theory of Meaningful Learning (TAS). In order to do so, theoretical concepts referring to TAS and Teacher Training were put in evidence. The final reflection included the understanding that TAS, in addition to providing meaningful and deep learning, provides teacher training to mediate and lead students to an active, critical and reflective process during the formative trajectory, a look at learning with meaning and purpose towards education, human and professional training, as well as social transformation.
