Resumen
The Complementary and Integrative Practices (PICS) are a group of therapeutic approaches that were
regulated in Brazil in 2006, through the National Politic for Complementary and Integrative Practices
(PNPIC). In mental health assistance, PICS are approaches that may contribute to diversify care
strategies, but there is still little expressiveness in its services, specially CAPS. Therefore, this work
aimed to comprehend how the development of PICS in two CAPS for adults is occurring in the city
of Ijui-RS, from the relationship that users stablish with them and also from the evaluation of the
gestor and the works of there institutions. It’s a field and exploratory research with a qualitative
approach, based on Gadamer’s philosophical hermeneutic. The data collect was made through semi-
structured interviews, that happened through videocalls and telephonic calls, respecting the sanitary
measures due to Covid-19 pandemic. All interviews ere recorded by a mobile phone and subsequently
transcribed. From the analysis of the interviews, it was possible to conclude that PICS are recognized
by users and professionals as important strategies to care in these services, contributing to the
promotion of welfare and attending qualification on CAPS. However, it was also possible to identify
that PICS present some difficulties in these services, specially when it comes to the arrangement of
material and specialized human resources.
