Resumen
The use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), widely known as drones, has increased in environmental, forestry and agricultural context. In this sense, the present work aims to understand which results can be archived using UAV data to delineate river channels and beds as well identify topographic ground points. The study was conducted in the municipality of Erval Grande, in the state of RS, Brazil. Several different fly modes were carried out to create the digital surface model (MDS) and digital terrain model (MDT), and orthomosaic. Thus, using such digital models, the demarcation of the channel and riverbed was carried out with the aid of a geoprocessing software. In general, it was demonstrated that the process of demarcation of rivers using UAVs occurs in a very roughly way
compared to the conventional topography process, based on the point-to-point system. In addition, it aspires to expand discussions on the subject in the forestry, environmental and agricultural areas, which have much to gain from the methodology used here for the use of UAVs.
